Jumping on the fandom bandwagon. Gacked from lots of people.

Sorting Hat Results:
Gryffindor: 89% (Huh? That's much higher than I would have guessed.)
Ravenclaw: 97% (Duh! Wonder what 3% I missed?)
Hufflepuff: 78% (Okay, sure. I'll buy that.)
Slytherin: 24% (Again, Duh!)

Wow, I have Ravenclaw envy. 97%, I bow before your Ravenclaw-ness. hehe. It looks like the sorting hat would have far less trouble with you than me. ;)

*grins* I am such a Ravenclaw, I swear. Okay, maybe I should rephrase that. I am an overly-intellectual dork. Heh. ;-)

69, 73, 56, 52, in order. I think the Sorting Hat might've had some trouble with me, although Grant and I have always said we'd be Ravenclaws for sure.

What I found interesting is that there are certain scores I gave myself that would've been very different a couple years ago. I think my anxiety disorder's been mostly trounced by now (yay!) and my spending time amongst people not always known for being nice has toughened my skin a great deal. I'm overall very pleased. :)

It's an interesting test, though I'm always really skeptical of that sort of self-reporting. They did ask the same questions in different ways, and I assume there's something worked in to look at the degree to which you contradict yourself when answering. Or it could be just a matter of adding up points, in which case it seems a little cheesy! :-P

I know I would have scored differently had I taken something like this a few years ago. That's the problem I have with psychological self-evaluation tests like Myers-Briggs, and personality-labelling shite like "True Colors". I find it dangerous to label people and predict their future based on who they are now. It's fine to make someone aware of their shortcomings, because then they can use that information to make their own choices. What really pisses me off is when people use the results of a 16-year-old's MB to advise them on a career path. Stupid, shortsighted, and dangerous, IMNSHO.

Okay, that was totally OT, wasn't it? *grins*

I finished going through your comments on Bodyguard this morning, BTW. Thanks so much! It was all very helpful, and it was clear you'd out a lot of time into it! I'm having another go at it myself, and Rita's taken it with her on her trip. I'm hoping I'll be able to post it in August.

*breathes huge sigh of relief*

I think the only thing that has changed on my Meyers-Briggs test through out the years is E vs I. Depending on what has been going on in my life, there have been times went I have become much more introverted and gotten an INFP result rather than my more standard ENFP. But I do agree that basing career recommendations for teenagers on their MB tests as a predictor for the rest of their lives could be problematic.

It would be interesting to see a fic where this idea was explored. What if things changed in a student's personality throughout the course of his or her Hogwarts career? If you were to start with a student who doesn't have strong characteristics for any of the houses (maybe like Helens *point up) who gets sorted into one house but then later starts developing and changing and winds up much more suited to another, what would happen?

Ooh -- I'm so glad the notes helped! :) August sounds like a good goal and I'm glad to have been useful there :D

You beat me by two whole percentage points.

I love having Ravenclaw friends. I know I'm prejudiced but I think it is the BEST house. (Is it just me, or did I sound incredibly high school in that comment? Oh well.)
