So...did we decide anything in that thread? Personally, I like the idea that something happened to his first master, and Siri picked up with him. They are such an unlikely Master/Apprentice pair. Shades, even, of Rebel Qui-Gon and Council's Pet Obi-Wan.
And I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for JW to explain the time discrepancy. After all, she *totally* botched the timeline in the first Jedi Apprentice Special Edition. (By the way, I've heard there will be a third JASE!!!!) She has admitted to not paying much attention to canon in other books. She looks to the editors to catch her mistakes, which apparently they don't always do.
