emmagrant01: (Draco - in ur fic)

I feel like I'm constantly underwater these days. It's all I can do to keep up with preparing for the courses I teach, but I don't want to sacrifice any more of my time with BG to work. So I stay up late after he goes to sleep, which really eats into my internet time. :-P

It's been almost two years since I've written anything in the HP fandom. I still get lots of comments on my stuff (much to my amazement), and most of the time I can't remember what the story was about! So I decided to re-read some of my most-commented-on one-shot fics last night, and ended up staying up until 2:30 am. And it was AWESOME, OMG! It was like reading fics for the first time, because I really didn't remember many of the details about those stories. It's weird to think I wrote all of that, actually. And of course, since you generally write fics to your own taste, I really liked all of them! I particularly liked "The Next Best Thing", "Weakness", and "Leave Your Field to Flower." All of those fics were special to me at the time I wrote them, and I'm pleased with how well they stand up now, even with canon closed.

And oh, it makes me want to write again. I have at least 6 half-written HP and ST fics on my hard drive, and no time to sit down and finish them. *sigh*

So good to hear you still feel the HP vibe. I'd love to read a new HP (H/D) fic from you. :)

I'm so out of it these days that I have no idea what's going on in the H/D part of fandom. Of course, that can be a good thing, yanno? I'm really feeling the urge to write at the moment, though. :-)

Leave Your Field to Flower is one of my all time favorite fics... just so you know.

Aw, thank you! I really enjoyed revisiting it last night. I was (and still am, honestly) surprised by the response to it. I thought for sure that it was just too "out there", LOL.

It's always interesting to me that fics I wrote before HBP was released, that are REALLY out of line with canon, are still being read. I guess I'm amazed people are still willing to go there, yanno?

You too? :D Very glad to hear you are on an HP kick. Haha, wow, maybe it's just the time of season to fall back in love with HP. Now that I stop and think on it, I haven't been very active in the HP fandom for years. I took detailed notes on the last book and on the fifth movie, but never got around to typing them up, and the last time I can remember producing anything fandom related is circa 2001. Then, all of a sudden, it comes up and bites me in the rear again, and I'm returning to it full force as in the days of yore. I blame Tom Felton's and Daniel Radcliffe's ridiculousness as of late and their D/H feeding/gushing.

For me, my fandom loves never, ever, go away, just get pushed to the back burner of my focus for a bit while I'm consumed with other fandoms. Recently, I'm even feeling a creative tug to unleash the itch of lit or art for my lovely OTP Draco and Harry. Whether it ever gets finished in some form remains to be seen. XD

Ooh, what have Dan and Tom been up to that's so exciting? I've been completely out of it lately!

Oh, man, I just read an enormous H/D post-Hogwarts fic and thought of you and your taste for it; this is a timely post from my perspective. I'd never read "Leave Your Field to Flower", I don't think - H/D AND P/Hr, you'd think I'd have snagged that one! :)) I just read it now, though, and what a great story - the image of an abandoned Diagon Alley made me incredibly sad. The comments were interesting - you were talking about how it was something you might want to pursue later, depending on the outcome of DH. Have you thought about it at all since then?

I have to say that about three months ago I did my ritual once a year re-read of LMH and STG and still loved at as I did the first time :) I am glad you still feel the love for HP and I hope that you get the writing bug again.
Give hugs to BG for me.

LMH & STG are my absolute favorites!

I've read each of them about five times. STG made a nine hour flight to Copenhagen go by much faster. I copied it, converted it to text, and put it on my PDA. I would love to read more in that universe from you. But then ... I'd love to read anything new HP from you ... full stop!

It's insane how easy it is to get into those old stories. I've been out of fandom for a couple of years now, but now I'm back and staying up late every night to read fic ... in fact, I just read the last few chapters of Left My Heart, and now I want to stay up and read Surrender the Grey, but I'm already falling over from sleep deprivation!

It's the umpteenth time I've reread LMH, and every time I am impressed with how well you wove it together with StG, how the mystery plot of StG is already in place from page 1 of LMH. You're awesome, woman. I will absolutely shit myself from joy if you start writing fic again. OMG PLEASE DO IT.
