Getting the HP love back

emmagrant01I feel like I'm constantly underwater these days. It's all I can do to keep up with preparing for the courses I teach, but I don't want to sacrifice any more of my time with BG to work. So I stay up late after he goes to sleep, which really eats into my internet time. :-P
It's been almost two years since I've written anything in the HP fandom. I still get lots of comments on my stuff (much to my amazement), and most of the time I can't remember what the story was about! So I decided to re-read some of my most-commented-on one-shot fics last night, and ended up staying up until 2:30 am. And it was AWESOME, OMG! It was like reading fics for the first time, because I really didn't remember many of the details about those stories. It's weird to think I wrote all of that, actually. And of course, since you generally write fics to your own taste, I really liked all of them! I particularly liked "The Next Best Thing", "Weakness", and "Leave Your Field to Flower." All of those fics were special to me at the time I wrote them, and I'm pleased with how well they stand up now, even with canon closed.
And oh, it makes me want to write again. I have at least 6 half-written HP and ST fics on my hard drive, and no time to sit down and finish them. *sigh*
