My Lumos schedule!

OMG just a few days until Lumos!

This is mostly for my own reference, but also here for any friends who might be looking for me -- or anyone who hasn't yet figured out what events they're going to and wants to see what I'm doing in order to avoid me. ;-) I somehow wound up on four panels in addition to teaching in the Magical Night Classes, so it's going to be a busy weekend!

If you know of any meet-ups you think I'd be interested in that I haven't mentioned in here, please let me know. There was an awesome pornish_pixies meet-up at TWH, but I haven't heard if there's one planned for Lumos.

Also, we'll be recording segments for slashcast and handing out Slashcast buttons throughout Lumos, so be sure to ask for a button from me, amanuensis1, glockgal, karaz, kerryblaze, longleggedgit, or Aspen (cursescar).

Wednesday:

• Arrival at 11:00 am


• Ride to the JW Marriott with psychobarfly, taradiane, coffeejunkii, and akahannah


• Hang out with people. Any get-togethers on Wednesday that I don't know about?


• jedirita arrives late. Room with her and geoviki that night. hazelhawthorne will be added to the mix at some point, though I'm not yet sure when she arrives.
  

Thursday:

• Registration opens at 10:00 am, so I'll probably go pick up my packet.


• H/D lunch meetup, Wooloughan's Irish pub, 12:00 pm


• Welcoming Feast, 6:00 - 8:00 pm


• Harry & the Potters Concert, 8:00-10:00 pm


• Hit the bar with the other H/D slashers at Wooloughan's at 10:00 pm (organized by myashke. See this post on lumos_hd for more info about H/D activities at Lumos.).

Friday: I'm participating in two panels today, and I will try to attend as many others as I can.

• [10:00-10:50 am] Running a roundtable with qurinas: Minor Characters in Fan fiction and Art. This was originally going to be a femmeslash panel, but it evolved into this focus on minor characters.


• [10:00-10:50 am] Panel with robertstandring from Spellcast, chaeche from Snapecast, and me representing slashcast: So You Want to Be a Podcaster? All about how to organize, record, and broadcast your very own HP podcast! Yes, I will need to be in two places at once. (Don't hurt me, qurinas!)


• [12:00-1:00 pm] I have a ticket to the lunch panel titled Severus Snape: Past, Present, and Future.


• [1:30-2:50 pm] I'm on this panel with heidi8, starrysummer, and others: Where do we go from here? This should be interesting, and focuses on how we writers deal with changing canon.


• [4:00-6:00 pm] H/D roundtable discussion, poolside at the Marriott (which will move to Wooloughan's if it gets too hot)


• [8:00-11:00 pm] Magical Night Classes! Come register on Friday morning if you want to take classes like Potions, Herbology, Divination, History of Magic, and Arithmancy (I'm teaching this one) and earn your W.A.N.D (Wizardiing Aptitude for Novices Declaration).

Saturday: I'm on two panels again, and will be trying to fit in other fun stuff around that.

• [12:00-1:00 pm] I have a ticket to the lunch panel, titled The Education of Harry Potter. Will be thinking naughty thoughts about the title if the panel turns out to be boring.


• [2:30-3:50 pm] I'm moderating this panel with furiosity, sioniann, geoviki, and scarah2: But It's Just Crack! The Role of Crack Fiction and Art in Subverting and Contributing to Fandom. This should be a lot of fun!


• [9:00pm - 3:00 am] Watch POA and GOF with hundreds of other fans. This should be a highlight. It was fantastic fun at TWH.

Sunday: Start getting depressed. *sigh* There are some activities on Sunday morning, like the Leaving Brunch and something called a "post-mortem" from 1:00-2:00. 

So what am I missing?  Other get-togethers?  Also, I'm not leaving until Monday afternoon. Who else is sticking around?

ETA: Very Happy Birthdays to wordplay (we're the same age now, mwahaha!) and coffeejunkii (see you soon!). Also, a very Happy First Anniversary to hearts_n_roses and her lovely wife!

Thanks, hon! You have NO IDEA how much I wish I could play with you guys next weekend - looks like you've got a fantastic weekend lined up. I'm also disgruntled at all the merch I'm going to miss - I want a slashcast button! I want a Phoenix Rising luggage tag! OMG MY LIFE IS SO HARD!!!

I went to TWH not really knowing what to expect, and I had such a fantastic time that I registered for Lumos right away! I fully expect to have an amazing weekend. :-)

I guess Las Vegas is a bit far away for you, huh? :-(

*SQUEE* I'm so ridiculously excited about Lumos! I'll try to make it to the H/D lunch on thursday, but I'm passing on the bar night because I'm having a big ole room party for my birthday after the concert :D :D :D :D *fangasms*

And I'm soooo looking forward to the crack panel!

Geneva and I will be around till tuesday, so I'm all for hanging out if you want to!
