Happy New Year!

Tonight DH and BG and I went to a party hosted by someone I met in an online parenting community, and I ended up striking up a conversation with someone who turned out to be a fanfic writer in the Twilight fandom (she goes by sfiddy on FFN). It was such an awesome surprise to be able to talk about fandom and writing and slash and wank and everything else in the middle of this party! I also learned a lot about the drama of the Twilight fandom, hee.

It's fantastic how all these fandom terms enable you to have entire conversations in code, while surrounded by people who would probably be shocked if they knew what you were really talking about. :-D
