Lumos CDs!
Aug. 24th, 2006 08:48 amI got my CDs of some Lumos sessions in the mail recently, and I've been listening to them in the car during my commute. The sound quality is really good, I have to say, though in many sessions you miss out on about a third of what was said because the voices of people in the audience weren't picked up by the mics. In some cases, the people running the panel did a good job of paraphrasing those comments and repeating questions, but in other cases, you just miss out. I think the CD of the crack panel turned out particularly well, and it was a lot of fun to listen to! I made audience members come up to the mic to ask their questions and make their comments, and I'm really glad I did, because there's very little on the CD that isn't understandable.
Overall, it's so much fun to listen to these, particularly to panels I didn't get to go to. So much fandom love, I gotta say!
And... um... there doesn't seem to be a copyright on these CDs that I can see. I have five of them: the crack panel, the slash vs. het panel, "Bridging the Gap Between Scholars and Fans in a University-level HP Course", "A Critical Look at Wizarding Education", and "Educational Theory and Practice in the HP novels". I'm just sayin'...
