What the FUCK?????

I have no words. I don't know what to say. Because this bill would affect ME if I lived in that state. My 15-year-old unmarried cousin can accidentally get pregnant and have a baby no problem, but *I* would be required to get some sort of certification (possibly including a check of whether I go to church or not??) before I qualify for medical assistance to get pregnant???

Fuck you, fuckers. FUCK YOU.

Just the fact that any state would even remotely consider such a bill is frightening. When I read the book "The Handmaid's Tale" back in the mid-'80s, I remember feeling hugely relieved that the events described in the book could never occur. Why, we were just far too enlightened a society to accept and approve of such repression!

Now I'm not so sure. I am fervently grateful that I came of age during the sexually liberal, pre-AIDS 1970's. I never, NEVER thought that all the freedoms I took for granted could someday be reversed.

I no longer agree with anything the government proposes. Anything. I despair.
