I have pimped this before, back when Rita (jedirita) was posting the first draft -- and now it's done! This is a gorgeous novel-length Neville-centric story, with adorable Harry/Neville scenes and a dash of Snape/Lupin. It's set during the summer after OOTP, when Neville finds himself staying at Grimmauld Place with Harry and Remus for the summer. I love Rita's vision of Neville here -- he's perfectly awkward and geeky in the beginning, but he grows quite a lot over the course of the summer. The Harry/Neville subplot is delightfully awkward, and the main plot is full of mystery and action. I laughed, I cried -- I love it so much!

She's posting two chapters a week (Mondays and Thursdays), but this isn't a WIP. It's completed; she's just doing a final edit on each chapter as she goes. :-)

This year, my fandom resolution is to read more fic. I didn't read much other than one-shots last year, and I really want to make reading a priority again. It was why I came here in the first place, after all. I know there was a lot of great fic written in the last year, and I missed it!

So to get me started, if you wrote a fic last year that you think I would like, would you be so kind as to comment here with a link? If you aren't a writer, but would like to rec something, that would be fantastic too. I'll read just about anything, het and slash. I still need to catch up on Smutmas, but after that, I really want to read that stuff I missed while I was writing last year.

Honorable Mention Smut Fics

As promised, here are the Honorable Mention nominations from the Smut Fic Survey. Even though I requested people nominate short fics, there were a significant number of nominations that exceeded the 5000 word limit. Some of the people who submitted them acknowledged that they were too long and begged me to mention them anyway, while others perhaps didn't know they'd contributed something twice as long as what I'd requested!

I decided to list all the ones that were less than 10,000 words, because hey -- the more smut, the better. I know this is bound to piss some people off, because they followed the rules and didn't nominate certain fics that probably deserve mention.
