I can so understand the being 13 all over again... They were on the Tonight show last night, and (in case you get this early enough) will be on the Ellen Degeneres show tomorrow (Thurs, Oct 21) or so I'm told. Also, in case you didn't know and you live close enough to act on it... they will be in concert in Duluth, GA on Dec. 2nd... I HAVE TICKETS!!!!!! (sorry, insane fan here)

Wow - that's extremely 80s! I don't even know that I had any boycrushes in the 80s. My dad drove me to school and back so the only music I ever heard was Jazz or Oldies!!! I don't think I heard 80s music until the 90s, lol. I had a thing for Patrick Swayze for a long time though...

Boy, this takes me back. Yeah, I had the poster. Loved the hair and the hat.

Saw him a few years ago on Bill Mayer's show Politically incorrect. He had still the gorgeous cheekbones and the hair was beautiful. Of course the accent had me going squeee.. and to top it off.. he was the most articulate guest there. *g*

Yes, John was pretty, wasn't he? Almost feminine, really. I remember all the boys my age saying the guys in Duran Duran were "fags" because of the way they dressed and the make-up they wore. It was a huge boy-girl divide in junior high. And the irony of it was that the boys were all listening to Judas Priest... ;-)

I was such a Duranie! OMG! Liek you can have John. I was totally going to marry Roger! I remember being at summer camp when I saw the pictures of his wedding and having to go into the cabin so none of the girls would see me cry. *hides face in shame*

This post brings back soooooo many memories of my teenage years.
Sleep over parties where we swigged IBC root beer from the bottle and pretended to smoke cheetos while sitting on the curb in the middle of the night.
Fighting with my friends until we had divvied the boys up. there were six of us, so Darcie had to be content with Billy Idol.
My dad wouldn't let me hang anything on my walls that wasn't framed so he took my Duran Duran posters to the custom framing shop and had them professionaly framed. I still boggle over the idea of spending $40.00 to fram a $6.00 poster.
The first girl I was ever in love with was the twin sister of my best friend in eigth grade and the two of them used to draw this great Duran Duran fan comic called Simon Le Rat where all the boys were well hung rats and had copious amounts of sex with each other. That was truely my intro to slash.

I wish I was still in touch with them.

Oh, how cool! I think nearly every girl who was a teenager in the eighties went through her Duranie phase! And isn't it funny how every group of friends divided the guys up like that? It was such a sweet, innocent thing, too. I miss the feeling sometimes.

Actually, my fannish crush on Ewan McGregor brought those days back for me -- yet another reason why I'll be squeeing my way though the Tonight Show tonight! :-D
