I got this email today, sent to my QAJ email address:

Dear user of queerasjedi.com, administration of queerasjedi.com would like to inform you that,

Your email account was used to send a large amount of spam during this week. Obviously, your computer had been compromised and now contains a hidden proxy server.

We recommend you to follow our instructions in the attached text file in order to keep your computer safe.

Have a nice day,
The queerasjedi.com team.

Okay, the thing is this: *I* am the "queerasjedi.com team"! Me. Emma. That domain name is registered to me and helens78, and I am the administrator (and financer) of the QAJ account at slash city. So, the irony of me getting this email is just... Yeah.

Of course, there was a lovely little zipped file attached to this email that I was supposed to open.

It's good that you had the sense not to open the file. My husband did once. I had to buy a new computer.

Virus. Still, you might want to run a virus/adware/scumware check of your computer. Don't open it!

I stared at it for a moment, certainly, thinking, "Hang on, I'm the administrator!"

Oh, it was pretty clear what it was! I ran Symantec and it quarantined it right off. Mail from that address gets forwarded to my AOL account, and AOL caught it and didn't let it through. It was Outlook that got duped. *grumbles*

I received a similar message at my yahoo e-mail address and was gullible enough to actually open it.

It was not on. >:o
