jedirita has just posted an interesting topic for discussion on the list: MPAA Ratings and Fanfic. An excerpt:
Ratings on fic are pretty standard. Indeed, not only are they often required, but some people will only read fics of a certain rating. I can understand the desire to provide guidelines that help people decide whether to read a story or not, or that help parents decide if material is suitable for their children. But do ratings really
accomplish either task?
