I just spent my commute mentally working out a Zach/Benedict on-the-ST-set fic. I don't even KNOW where that came from. My brain has apparently already decided that whoever Benedict plays in the next ST film, he will be slashed with Spock. Like, without even consulting me. Just BAM, here is your new pairing. :-P

It also wants some Spock/Sherlock crossover smut. That must exist. *considers where to look for it*

My brain, it scares me sometimes.

But you know, one of the awesome things about fandom is that I know I'm not alone in this crazy descent into obsessiveness over something new and shiny. Before I found online fandom 10 years ago, this kind of thing would suck me under and I felt so alone. I had no outlet, no one I could explain the feelings to. It was crazy being trapped in my own head like that for weeks on end, the outside world a little hazy and foreign, and I both loved and hated it. Knowing that there are other people out there who get this feeling is such a tremendous relief. It keeps me afloat, it really does. And it's SO much more fun!! *snuggles fandom*

On a related note, is there some super-secret way to watch Sherlock live from North America that I just haven't figured out? Not that I mind waiting a bit to get a copy, but if there IS a way, I thought I should ask.

I know, right? I remember one instance when I spent a week locked in my apartment right before the spring semester started my junior year of college, utterly obsessed with the Clan of the Cave Bear series. Like, crazy-obsessed. I didn't leave my apartment for a WEEK. And the internet didn't exist then, mind. It was just me inside my crazy fucking head for a week, living on cans of soup, scribbling bad fanfic that no one would ever read in little notebooks.

And yet it was glorious. How the fuck is that possible? Still, I much prefer the current circumstances of millions of people available 24/7 to share the crazy with. :-D
