I'm 15,000 words into my fic for the dracotops_harry fest, with no end in sight. I can't seem to write anything short these days. And this one is going to need a beta with an iron fist, I fear. :-P

Anyone know what Easter break is like at Hogwarts? Is it ever really described?

According to the links above, there apparently is! I had remembered that was the reason Draco was at the Manor in DH when the trio were brought in by the snatchers, but I had no idea how long that break actually was.

Whoa, long. I think I have yet to break the 7,000 word marker with any fic yet. Although I suppose if you combine enough pieces from the same verses... They're kind of like chapters in an ongoing WIP, except that they can mostly all stand alone, as well. Hmm.

I think it's mostly because of this pairing. It's hard to get them together in under 5000 words. At least, it is for me! :-P

Ah, that does make sense. I'm usually good to go after around 1,500, since my pairs are usually established or close enough to it that it doesn't take much. Periodically I throw together a new pair, but there's still never all that much to overcome, really.

It's just full of revising and essay-writing, really. Mrs Weasley sends chocolate eggs, but apart from that it's not really celebrated. I don't know how you'd celebrate it anyway tbh though.

I seem to average 18K these days. I used to write lots of short things, but I just can't any more. I think it's partly because with this pairing, there is SO much for them to overcome, so much more than there was back when only 5 books were out. It just takes longer to get them to a place where they can have a civil conversation. Or something like that, anyway. :-)
