I decided to take a little break from grading hell to read a fic on hd_holidays whose summary I'd found intriguing, and damn. That was well worth being over an hour behind in my grading!

Burns Out Another's Burning, H/D, rated R (but I would have given it an NC-17 myself).

This is one of the most original and perfectly plotted war fics I've read in a long time. The writing is perfect, the characterizations glorious, the invented magic brilliant, the story incredibly engaging, and seriously, the whole thing is just perfection. I want to wrap it around me and cuddle it close. *sigh*
