MWAHAHA! Brilliant! Someone needs to write a parenting book about this subject. Hmm, maybe you and me?

They needed to have some moms represented here.

I've been telling my padawan about Star Wars since he was a baby. He wore his first Jedi outfit when he was less than a year old to a local booksigning with Aaron Allston. He knows many of the characters by sight, and whenever he sees a Star Wars toy in the store he says, "Mommy, I'm going to get that for you." (Yes, I prompted him; but he learned his lesson well.)

My problem is that recently he started asking to watch all the fight clips on YouTube. I tried to show him "A New Hope" but he wasn't terribly interested. Rather, he loves to watch the lightsaber fights, especially the Qui/Obi/Maul fight and the Grievous/Obi fight, and the Battle of Geonosis. So how does that mess things up for him to watch clips rather than the whole movies? Worse - that he's watching PREQUEL clips?!?!?!? What's a parent to do?

Also, he's clearly a budding Sith Lord. We were watching the Yoda/Dooku fight when he announed, "I don't like that guy" pointing to Yoda. "I like the other guy." I don't know if it's the red lightsabers or what, but he definitely prefers the bad guys. Though he does love watching Mace chop off Jango Fett's head. And here I foolishly thought he might find that traumatic.....

Okay, how scary is it that everyone else just makes a little comment about the vid, and I go into a long discussion about "how I introduced my kid to Star Wars." I'm like d00d, this is a VERY SERIOUS PARENTING ISSUE.
