Hi everyone! I just wanted to update to let you know what's going on with me. Some of you know about this already, but I had a baby two weeks ago. He was born a little more than two months premature due to complications that arose very suddenly while I was out of town visiting family, and I ended up hospitalized and having a c-section -- which was a huge shock, as you might imagine.

Despite the fact that I'm 1000 miles from home, we're all doing fine. I've recovered, and Baby Grant is doing very well. He'll be in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for at least another month, but he's surprisingly strong and healthy, and he just needs time to grow. As you might imagine, my days are pretty much consumed with sitting by his incubator and doing everything I can to help the nurses take care of him.

So you probably won't see me around here much for a while. It may be early March before we can get him back home, and I'm sure things will settle down after that. Many of you have already sent good thoughts, positive vibes, and prayers his direction, and please know that I appreciate it very, very much! I'll bring this little guy with me to Portus this summer so everyone can meet him, and I'm sure it will be hard to believe he was ever so tiny and frail. :-)

Congratulations! I'm really happy for you for becoming mummy Emma !:)
I'm also sorry you're going through a long tiny-baby-in-an-incubator period as my recently born nephew was only in intensive care for two days due to low blood sugar and it was hard for me because I wasn't allowed to see him for two days - I can't even imagine how it must feel like for a mummy to not be able to take your baby home :(. I hope he grows fast and there are no more complications and that he gets well as soon as possible for you to take him home.

I am so glad to hear that thing are going good and that Mr Baby Grant is getting stronger and stronger. The only downside to this is that baby Grant won't have a Texas birth certificate :)
