Smutty Claus gift for me!!!

I've been taking a few minutes to log in every day and check the gift comms I'm participating in, just in case a gift was posted for me. This morning I looked at my flist and saw that the very first entry was a gift for me on smutty_claus!

It's no secret that I ship Harry/Ginny, I think. I cheered for the pairing in canon and though I'm not exactly happy with the direction JKR took Ginny's character in canon, one of the great things about fanfic is that little things like that can be touched up. It's hard for me to find H/G fic that really hits my buttons, though. I'm not a fan of romance or schmoop; I prefer angst and longing and frantic, desperate, awkward sex. That must not be what's popular in that segment of fandom, which is fine -- but sad for me.

Oh, but some amazing anonymous author has now written me a Harry/Ginny fic that was pretty much exactly what I wanted! Seriously, this may be one of the best H/G fics I've ever read. It had me smiling and crying and in awe at the sheer craft with which it was put together. It's angsty and beautiful, yet gloriously hopeful and somehow incredibly romantic -- and still not fluffy! And with exactly the sort of sex scene I like! The way the POV shifts works better than I think I would have guessed if someone had described it to me, so I'll let you see that for yourself. The language is just... gah. Perfect. I can't wait to find out who wrote it! (Though I have a feeling it's someone I already know.)
