Well, I've finished. I haven't left my house since I got home Friday night (okay, Saturday morning, really), so I feel like I need to get a bit of fresh air. I did shower, at least, and managed to get enough snatches of sleep that I feel fine.

I want to make a big comprehensive post about how I feel about it all, but I think I need some time to digest it. I also want to read everyone else's thoughts, mostly because I feel like I've been horribly isolated, especially today. Not reading my flist during all of this was a lot harder than I thought it would be!

I kept a running commentary as I read each chapter, which contains my reactions to events as I read them and crazy theories as to what I thought was coming. Many of them were laughably wrong, but some of them were right. You can read that here, if you're interested. (Spoilers, obviously.)

I'm off to the grocery store, since I need to eat something other than pizza for dinner. And then I will spend the rest of the evening catching up with my flist!

So I practically can't read your entries. *sigh*

Can't discuss yet...although I've been spoiled BIG time - I know who dies and a part of the end. :(

Just wanted to give you my take on why slash ships will live on.

I like to think that Snape loved lily more as the one fiend her every truly had, his soul-mate perhaps, but not in a romantic point of view. So yes he loved Lily, and yes he told Voldy he wanted to have her but it was only so she could be saved. I think he viewed a an equal and a true friend not as a lover. So slash still lives!!! Also Remus married Tonks because he knocked her up because she liked him and he thought "what the hell, I'll give it a try" Also think on this Harry overtook/beat Draco and won his wand, Harry and Snape's Patronus match.

Also just think of the nineteen years we missed and all the exploring characters may have done. Then think about Harry's kids ships. its like the opposite of the Marauders.

I never expected any of Cannon to be slashy so I'm not really upset, though I do thin Neville and Luna are gay and best friends.

I believe the new 3rd-gen ship of choice is AS/S (http://community.livejournal.com/the_ass_ship/). Because, honestly, can you say no to a slash pairing named that?

It'll be a long time before I actually sit down and read my copy. So, I spoiled myself, just so I would be up on what everyone was talking about. What I'm really enjoying is reading everyone else's reaction to the book. I like finding out if people feel how I do about the ending we got.

Hi :D Left a big comment in your chapter commentary but I forgot to ask something: I never had any problem with remembering the little things in HP (I recognized Gregorovitch-or what ever you spell it-when I saw the name and the big blond guy in the pub before they attacked...) but there was one thing I didn't remember: When is a connection made between Lily and a Doe in the books? I understood why it was Snape's patronus but I didn't make the connection to Lily until we already knew from the memories... You figured it out before that chapter...

Oh and did Draco pay Harry back for the life (or should I say two-Loved that he smiled) debt?

Hi Emma!

I read your comments for each chapter as you read the book, and it was really fun to see your thoughts about the book that way! And I have to say you were a lot more clearsighted about a lot of the plot details than I was when I read the book the first time. (I am now re-reading it). I look forward to reading whatever fanfic you write in the future, as I've read everything you've written so far and loved it (especially Left my heart.. that is my favorite fanfic ever!).

i've been reading your journal for a while now and i really like it. but now i'm starting to spoil myself. it's horrible - i can't read the book til my exams are over and that will be in two weeks. whaaaaaaaaa i'm going crazy.
