jedirita and I, along with many others, like to start and participate in frank discussions about reading and writing fiction. After several failed attempts to get such discussions started in various places, a small group of us started a little discussion list on Yahoo. Discussion isn't limited to any one fandom, though most people currently involved primarily write in Star Wars and read a little in Harry Potter. Fic from both fandoms has been discussed so far.

The "blurb" about the group follows:

They say that in order to write, you have to read first, so our mission statement is "Readers on writing." You don't have to be a writer to be involved in the discussion, but writing is always the focus: your own, or someone else's. Discussions aren't limited to any particular fandom, or even to fan fiction as a genre. Any bit of writing can be discussed: fanfic or profic, slash or not. It's all about the writing!
