Tomorrow night, I will don my Ravenclaw robes to attend a midnight showing of OOTP with [livejournal.com profile] phaballa and [livejournal.com profile] tsarina and I think [livejournal.com profile] mom2enk as well. The Remus Lupins will be there! W00t!

I've stayed relatively unspoiled for the film. Not on purpose, but because I haven't had time to watch every clip out there. But I'm really looking forward to one scene in the film in particular: Snape's worst memory. I remember reading that scene for the first time and thinking, "They'd better put this one in the film, because it would be so amazing." It's such a critical moment for Harry, the first time he seems to realize his father was different than he'd always imagined -- and that maybe Snape had a reason to feel the way he did about him. *is excited*

What are you looking forward to seeing in the film?

I'm ridiculously excited about seeing Snape's Worst Memory as well (and in HBP, Spinner's End, when we get to that...). I have been spoiled with a few photos and I can't wait to see young Marauders and Snape in action. In fact, I'm just generally fascinated with everything having to do with Snape these days, and I'm looking forward to Occlumency in general. And Luna of course, who I'm cosplaying at both releases this summer. I won't spoil you and you my Severus icon, but just know that I'm tempted ;p

I'm sooo excited to see young Snape in action! And Luna, yes -- after hearing so many great things about Evanna Lynch, I'm really looking forward to that. And ooh, occlumency!

I'm looking forward to seeing Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort :P

There were so many good scenes in that book though *ponders* Everything with the department of mysteries should be pretty awesome. And I'm interested to see how they write the scene near the end of the book, where Harry finds out about the Prophecy.

Oh, that's right! All the stuff between Harry and Dumbledore, with the prophecy at the end...

I'm re-reading HPOOP this week and starting immediately on HBP before the 21st... anyways, I keep coming across scene after scene in the book that I'm desperately hoping they didn't chop.

Unfortunately, Hermione's triumph over Rita Skeeter and getting Harry's story told in the Quibbler probably won't be in there since they excised Rita's story line from GoF. Harry giving the interview at the Three Broomsticks and the immediate aftermath is one of the great victories we get to savor in the book.

Things I definitely want to see:
The story surrounding the attack on Mr. Weasley (have little hope for this), Neville's parents (have little hope for this, too), 12 Grimmould Place, The Hearing (and the Dementor attack), Hermione's role in creating DADA, Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes (they didn't include the twins getting the 1000 galleons in the GoF movie, so...?)

Things I hope they didn't waste time on:
Grawp and the story of Hagrid's going to mingle with the Giants, SPEW, Quidditch (Ron's trials as keeper "Weasley is our King!" & the lifelong ban are interesting, but it's unnecessary to advance the story.)

I wonder if Harry's interview with The Quibbler will be cut altogether? Probably, but it seems at least a little likely they'll keep it in.

There are some things you've mentioned that I know for sure are in the movie. Do you want to know?

This may sound morbid...but I'm looking forward to the battle at the DoM and Voldemort's brief posession of Harry as well as Sirius's fall through The Veil.

I saw a picture on the front cover of The Daily News yesteday of Harry (Dan) wearing colored contacts indicative of the posession scene.

I've seen some brief clips of the battle at the DoM and it looks AMAZING. And ooh, Sirius's death -- that will be interesting to see, especially because I've seen some really sweet Harry/Sirius huggy clips. ;-D

THE MOVIE IS SO FUCKING AWESOME ZOMG!!

I've been waiting two weeks to see it again--and I will tell you this much: you will love the movie, but after the fact, you'll realise what parts weren't there. Only you won't realise most of them during the movie, because it is that awesome. *bounces*

So, um...guess I shouldn't tell you what I'm looking forward to seeing, huh? ^^;;;

I just can't wait to see it all again! :D

I am super excited to see all of the nightmare sequences and Occlumency lessons, as I've heard Dan is tops in them. I also can't wait for the entire battle sequence at the end! Long night tomorrow, but it'll be well worth it! I can't wait!!

I am already squealing over SWM. Just... gahyes, MWPP. Keeping my eyes peeled for any super-subtle glances between Lily and Snape too which may hint at Something More XD Also, I've seen a few stills of the Hall of Prophecy which looks absolutely stunning. I love pretty movies, so I have high hopes for this one.

Ooh it's all nearly over *wibble* - though I am rather excessively excited!

I pray that they get the Thestrals right - I adored their descriptions in the book. The other excitement for me is the Hall of Prophecy itself, but having seen a clip of that I know they got the room looking really really good.

I'm looking for to the Worst Memory scene as well. I've looked at pictures, but I have been trying to stay away from all the clips. I'll probably watch all the clips after I see the movie.

I'm desperately trying to finish a re-listen to OOTP before seeing the movie tonight. Only have about 4 hours left to go.

I can't wait to see it tonight.

I'm really excited because I'm seeing it in 11 hours at IMAX where the last 20 minutes are in 3D! I guess that will cover from when the sextet flee Hogwarts through the battle at MoM and Harry destroying Dumbledore's office.

I also want to see the Advance Guard leaving Privet Drive and the broom ride along the Thames, Grimmauld Place (I have a firm picture in my head what it looks like) and the twins' escape.

As for the Harry/Cho "romance" ... I'll close my eyes and try not to gag!

Cheers, C

I reread the book last summer and when I read about the Atrium and the Ministry with the elaborate water fountain and tons of people going about their business I immediately wanted this scene in live action.

With so many wizards passing by, floos flaring up, and inter-office memos flying around, I knew there would be so much to look at if I were actually there.

I really hope(d) the director puts a lot of effort into making the MoM seem as vast and diverse as I saw it in my head.

And I want to see Snape's memory too. It is a look into the past to see what made the characters the way they are in the future.

Exactly what you are..."Snape's Worst Memory" is probably my favorite chapter in all six books. I love the marauder era.

I'm also looking forward to Helena Bonham Carter (in general), and the twins' breakout scene. I really hope they include that.

Why are you looking at me like that? It's in MY version of the book!
