In case you haven't seen this yet and are now or have been a member of any fandom, go and join fandom_counts. You don't have to watch it or anything, and there aren't any posts. It's just an attempt to count how many of us there are who use LJ for fandom, to show that we matter.

Lots of people are posting links to everywhere about this, but this one by roaring is very interesting, and points out how LJ/Six Apart is handling this episode quite differently than they have in the past.

And I'll stop posting about this soon, I swear. :-P

I was there, that moment when the count hit 20 000!! I was on that page and it was on 19 930, and when I hit refresh, it was 20 000!!

I couldn't sleep from all this excitement! I was wake all night, posting and all. I even made my first icons (totally amateur!! don't laugh)

No, don't stop writing! I've been reading up on the madness all day and its just crazy, a massive mystery. I can't understand what has changed between them standing with the fandom on LJ to deleting their communities and journals??? Crazyness. But all this action, all these smart informed people giving us such great tips on online protest? That in itself is fantastic, and shows the robustness of the fandom.
