Icon fever

jedirita commented in a chat last night that I had way too many icons. I'll admit I've been enjoying my fifty icon limit immensely. But the odd thing is, it's never enough. Choosing an icon to accompany a post is sort of like looking in my overstuffed closet. I look around for a while before whining, "I've got nothing to wear!"

So, like my icons? I need more, of course. Somebody offered to make me a Sirius/Remus one a while back... *sniff*

seviet did, but you have to have a password for her site and the smut pics she draws. I think she's the best HP artist! lea_ndra can hook you up with her better...I always have to ask her if there's new smut!

The ten or so that I have are already too many for me to choose from. I'm the kind of person who can't even go to MacDonald's because it presents me with too many choices. If I had 50 icons, I'd never be able to pick which one I want at any given moment.

(So I used Canon Lady, because I don't use it very often!)

Broadly speaking, my icons are around to match up with the type of fic I'm most likely to post. This is even more true over on JF, where half my icons are Chiaroscuro icons (though I've removed the icons for finished arcs, in an attempt to save icon space).

There are also icons for random things (the bunny icon, the "croodles" icon [explanation here], the "OKAY" icon and the "WTSIT?" icon), but mostly it's all about the stories. :)

With 50 icons, it seems one ought to be able to cover fic-related posts and more personal ones. Lately I've been creating new icons when I don't seem to have anything that fits.

And "croodle" is really a word, huh? I'll have to remember that!

I thought I had plenty with 25! But I've had icons for (*counting*) Cruelty, Captivation, Sincerity, Sean himself, Pierce himself, Challenge, Pushing, two for JRM himself, Linked, one for Geils and one for Quinn, Bravado, Tom himself, and Paradox, which is 15 icons right off. To say nothing of Ewan, Sean, bunnies, croodles, swarming with orcs, OKAY, WTSIT, and more...!

Judewan! <333333333! I've been writing Judewan lately... all Grace and Dee's fault. Are you too squicked by this thought, or shall I point you in that direction? ;)

Oh, RPS doesn't squick me, not anymore! ;^P The only thing that's kept me from reading a lot of your stuff is that it seemed like there was a lot of backstory for these various universes and story arcs, and I was too frickin' lazy to figure it all out. (It's all I can do to keep up with reading and writing in two fandoms!)

I'll read RPS that's fairly stand-alone, though. Does it fall into that category?

I think it's fairly standalone -- it draws on the characterizations Grace and Dee have for Jude and Ewan (grumpy Ewan, poised Jude) but there's no backstory that you need to be aware of; those characterizations come out through the fic itself. Plus it's short!

Speaking of getting to work, guess what I've been doing today? Yes! Working on the beta for the Bodyguard! When that's done I'm signing on to AIM if there's still any time in the day, but I'm a good 20 pages in. Go me!
