Happy Valentine's Day!

I know some people hate this holiday, but I've always loved it. For me, it's about celebrating love in all its forms -- love for your family, friends, and lovers (and yes, those categories often overlap). In school, I loved giving valentines to all my friends. It was a day to say, "I care about you and am happy to have you in my life". Well, that and to give and get lots of chocolate. ;-) I refuse to let it be solely about romantic love, because it's such a great opportunity to express your regard for everyone who makes a difference in your life. So:

Thank you for always being there when I need a lift or an escape.
Thanks for all the wonderful fanfic, art, vids, recs, and meta.

Thanks for letting me see a little of your lives, with all your joys and pains and everything in between.
Thanks for saving me from a lifetime of feeling like a freak because I obsess over and write stories about someone else's fictional characters. ;-)

yay! and I agree about v-day. It's all kinda sweet. Unless you're currently broken=hearted, in which case it's all like buring acid on your life. But that's not me today, so yay!

Yeah -- I guess for the recently broken-up, it can be a bit of a sucky time. But that's hopefully when you can get together with friends and celebrate what you have with each other. Or buy a bottle of champagne to drink while you eat chocolate and watch you favorite movie. Sometimes, you have to show yourself a little love. :-)

I completely agree with this sentiment. I think that sometimes, the whole, "you should have a love relationship and what's wrong with you if you don't?" attitude that seems to prevail on this day can create that hate that you mentioned, so making it a more general, "I'm glad you're in my life" kind of day works better for me.

I just wanted to thank you for all of your wonderful fics that I have enjoyed since I became part of the slash community these last 4 months.
