I've been meaning to do this, and I just saw
elke_tanzer post about it. I just sent a contribution to cover me and MDH for the past year.
You can offset your carbon footprint by donating to organizations that improve the environment. Carbonfund.org is an organization that helps individuals and corporations offset their carbon footprints by distributing funds to climate-friendly projects. There's even a handy carbon calculator on the site to help you determine how much to contribute.

Date: 2006-12-22 09:24 pm (UTC)Coincidentally, I did the test on a different site last night and found out I'm at .59 tonnes? Supposedly that's not bad (walking to work helps). It's still alarming to think about how much .59 tonnes a year would be, if you could actually see it.
