So where did this icon come from? From the internet, or from a picture you took?

It's one of those "famous" pictures, though I'm not sure if this is the real one or a fake. (Found it on the internet.) It's from a book you've likely heard of of the same title, a travelogue written by a guy who backpacked his way around Asia. This was a sign he saw somewhere (in China, the story goes, though the utter lack of Chinese in thie picture adds credence to the possibility it's a fake), and he thought it captured perfectly the weird things travellers often encounter. I haven't actually read the book, but it's been on my list for years.
