If you voted today (or absentee or early), feel free to take the code in the box below and post this in your own journal.

I love Election Day, really. It's exciting to go and stand in line and be part of the whole event, and then to curl up on the couch and watch the results come in that night. Of course, it's more fun if things turn out your way. I have hope today. :-)

Wooo! And if you're interested, I think I will be going to Drinking Liberally tonight at the Dog and Duck (which is near, um, that Indian restaurant on 15th, maybe?) to watch election results.

As my mother says, there's only one day every few years that Ohio gets to be the Center of the Universe. :D

(Okay, so maybe not this time around, but it sure as hell seems like it.)

And this is the first time that my vote will be counted in the city that always seems to be the deciding factor for Ohio. *dances*

Can't wait for tonight.

IN TWO YEARS. Dammit.

And the sad thing is, I can't even do the curling up on the couch bit. I don't have TV (which explains why I'm on here so much) because my mother thinks its some kind of goverment brainwashing scheme. Not really, but I'm pretty sure that's what's going on her head.

Will be snagging your banner ^^ I voted via absentee ballot because I'm at college now... It's so depressing how little my friends and classmates seem to care about voting. If something's not in their own little world or doesn't affect them immediately, it just doesn't matter..meh, really annoys me. I'm 19, so I just started voting last year...but I really think it's important and always vote, even knowing that I'm "throwing away" my vote on a third party candidate or voting for someone I know won't get elected because of my district's voting history.

Well, sorry for the rant. >.>; But I just wish people my age would be a little more proactive...

Snagged!

You wouldn't believe how hard it was to figure out the CA supreme court justices' views. I finally tracked down that BOTH of them will be good; one's a lesbian, and both have previously voted for gay marriage & etc. That's the next big vote coming up here- sometime next year, probably.

I feel so helpless over here in Australia. I might snag it when our election here comes around. Although voting is compulsory here so I don't know if it would have the same profound meaning :P

It's a great banner though. I wish I could put it on my UI page just because it's so pretty!

:)

Amusing considering one of the propositions we're voting on here in Arizona.

PROP. 107 -- MARRIAGE

The issue: The Protect Marriage Initiative would amend the state Constitution to ban same-sex unions.

The impact: The measure would define marriage as a union between one man and one woman and bar state and local governments from giving legal status to unmarried couples.

That'd be a no. I pray this one doesn't get through. That's a low blow. Let me tell you. That sort of thing doesn't need to even be DISCUSSED. I don't see why people are wanting to politically bash homosexuals - but it's a controversial prop here in AZ. And one of the main reasons I'm going to vote today.

i hope thats a no as well. if someone isnt gay, why do they care what they do/what happens? so stupid.

It was gorgeous here and I didn't have to stand in line.

I do remember one year when I was in high school I was helping one of the local candidates. I spent 4 hours after school standing in the freezing rain, holding a sign in front of one of the voting locations. He lost and I got a cold. *G*
