oh my gosh that would be great. i can see matt damon as kirk...kind of. i'm not sure about ben affleck as spock though. he would be nothing on leonard nimoy.

this is oddly timely since i've only gotten into star trek slash in the last month. (no to mention the kirk/spock refrence in the observer article) now that i go back and watch the series though, i've decided it's cannon.

Oh geez, go back back and watch Original Trek with slashy eyes. It's STUNNING. There's Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Bones, Kirk/aliens, Kirk/everybody, basically. It's so frickin' slashy, I tell you. The looks they give each other! The Pon Faar!!!

What an odd timing, my husband put all the star trek seasons in queue at Netflix, this has bored me to tears. Maybe, if Damon plays Kirk in the movie I may have a reason to become "really interested" and I would insist on going to the movie with him.

As for Spock....so many choices...

But Matt Damon as Kirk? Yes, please!

Rupert Friend, as mentioned above, does indeed have the right bone structure for Spock.

But having Kirk and Spock at the Academy? They're -totally- asking to re-fan the slash flames. In fact, I'd be surprised if there wasn't already a body of slashfic out there set during those "early days" at the academy.
