I see that the love meme maxed out on comments. Good for us!

I didn't reply to any comments people left for me on this thread (and gosh, these too) because I didn't want to take up space for other people to get loved on, but I wanted to say that I was really touched by the comments people made! Thanks so much for that. Fandom can be a really strange place sometimes, but every now and then things like this happen that remind me why I fell in love with it in the first place. :-)

On another note entirely, two comms I used to mod have been taken on by new folks. [livejournal.com profile] hp_quince is now being modded by [livejournal.com profile] wook77 and [livejournal.com profile] novel_fanfic is now being modded by [livejournal.com profile] piscaria. There is a post here on the latter asking for feedback about how you'd like to see the comm be developed. Thanks to both of these awesome women for taking on these comms!

*smooches to everyone*

A considerable while ago, I sounded off in your journal about the OMGEBILness of American spelling. Doubtless you don't even recall this occurence, but since then it has preyed on my mind a bit. Firstly, because I had no place taking my whinging angst out on an innocent bystander; and secondly, because it is a ridiculous point. It's one thing to have British wizards shopping at Seven-Eleven (and a skilled writer could even get away with that), but challenging a way of spelling that as is natural to one country as mine is to another was just plain daft.

In the spirit of the love meme and my own personal need for absolution (a Catholic upbringing and the purge-and-relief of confession do leave their mark), I just wanted to say sorry. I daresay I'm making a mountain range out of a molehill over an event you barely registered, but it's a good feeling getting it off my chest.

Actually, I do remember that, though I wrote it off as us agreeing to disagree on the topic. Still, it's incredibly sweet of you to take the time to let me know how you feel. Thank you! :-)
