emmagrant01It's so interesting to scan the flist after two weeks of being away from it. The fics people are talking about are completely different, and there's something new everyone's either wanking about or bemoaning the wank of. I can't help but wonder if I really missed anything, you know? Ah, fandom.
It's also amazing how much writing one can get done when scanning the flist for an hour at a time isn't an option. I love LJ, but it can really be a bit of a time sinkhole.
On a completely different note, I just learned this morning that the US Senate soundly defeated the FMA! Frankly, I'm stunned. I really thought that was a lost battle, and I'm almost giddy that it wasn't even close. It's almost enough to give me a spark of hope for my country. :-)
