That was originally by Pansy Division, a group of queer punk rockist who do exactly that :insert headbanging here:. Or at least, I think it was. Point is, Willie Nelson has once again stolen my heart.

Heh. Yes, and it also very much sounds like the sort of weird mid-line rhyme (frequently secretly) Willie would write (and make work)--Willie is one of those singers whose voice I find inexplicably comforting, but I haven't heard this yet. I think I need to. :D And as I have never DLed Itunes and also don't actually have any music on my computer... hm. I wonder if I can convince Launchcast to play it for me.

When I read the news item about Willie Nelson's release of the song, I was just like "Ummmm *opens iTunes* *listens to Pansy Division's version* *puzzles over how it could be country*"... although "Bill and Ted's Homosexual Adventure" is clearly the better song.

Ooh, Pansy Division are one of my favourite groups ever! I've even seen them play live in some shithole club in Detroit - we got autographed t-shirts and everything. God, that was sooo long ago. Anyway, I don't know for sure if they wrote the song, but they definitely recorded it a long time ago and it's their sort of thing. Love their music! So funny, and great punk rock to boot :)
