There was a time when this would have been accurate:

<td align="center"> Emma Grant --
[noun]:

A dance involving little to no clothing

'How will you be defined in the dictionary?' at QuizGalaxy.com</td>

I'm not sure what this one is about:

Emma Grant will have to write:

I will not be an inspiration to the Bush Administration

'What will you have to write on the chalk board?' at QuizGalaxy.com

This made me laugh:

<td> <table border="0" width="450" bgcolor="#000000">
You will go to jail for:
You claimed sex toys as a business expense on your tax forms

Take this quiz at QuizGalaxy.com
</td>
</table>

On a completely different note: I may not have been posting a lot of fic lately, but I've been writing quite a lot. I submitted a fic to [livejournal.com profile] hp_loveletters, and my (very late, so sorry, Robin!) submission for [livejournal.com profile] hp_springsmut is almost finished. After that one's done, I can get back to writing other things at last! (Viki and Abby, I swear I'm still in it!) Between Smutmas, Jedi Santa, HP Infinities, and these two exchanges, I think I overcommitted myself this fall. :-P

Don't get me wrong -- I love writing for fic exchanges, because they push me to write pairings and scenarios I may not have attempted otherwise. Writing a fic for a particular person's tastes can be a challenging task, and it's a lot of fun to try to do it. I tend to like working with deadlines and pressure, though, which means I almost always procrastinate and often only start working on these fics a week or two before the deadline. That sort of intensity is usually part of my process; I mark out blocks of several hours at a time (when MDH is travelling and I've nothing better to do in the evenings) and bury myself in writing. But this last month, I had little time to spare, and I really paid the price for waiting. Still, I'm proud of the two fics I wrote, and I don't think they would have turned out as well if I hadn't written them quickly and intensely. That seems to work for me as a writer, painful as it can be.

All right, back to work. *sips coffee*

ETA: Oh, Splenda! How lovely to have you back in the break room! So much better than sugar or the pink stuff!

ETA 2: [livejournal.com profile] lightstarangel and I have found the (unavailable in the US) purse-packet Splenda tablets for sale online here! :-D

lol on the Splenda - I keep a ziploc bag of packets in my purse to use when a restaurant doesn't have it. I (maybe rudely) leave the empty packets on my plate as a hint to acquire Splenda, please.

It's gotten to the point that I consider not having coffee at all if there's no Splenda present. :-P

I saw someone with a little purse pack of Splenda once, almost like a little box of Tic-Tacs, but it was little Splenda tablets. I've never seen one since, but I'm still looking.

Really! I've seen Nutrasweet ones but not Splenda. If you find that, let me know! I get mine from my company store but I can only get the pacets.

Replying again! Found this on the UK Splenda site: http://www.splenda.co.uk/about_splenda/100_tablets.html

I can't find them on the US one though :(

Yes, that was it! OMG! Now that I think about it, it was in the UK that I saw it. Hmmm... I wonder if they'll ship to the US? *goes to try*

Haha..I'm trying too! There's a site that comes up called Weston's Home Health something or other...its in the UK tho and I'm looking to see if they ship to the US!

Woo hoo!

Yay! From the places I've been searching, it seems that they DID have the tablets in the US and then took them off the market. I wonder why? Maybe b/c they're white little pills? I dunno.

I remember reading once that some Splenda products hadn't been approved by the FDA. For example, there's a liquid version of Splenda available in Europe that's supposed to be great for baking, but it's not available in the US. I hope that doesn't mean it's technically illegal to ship that stuff to the US.

Cause I just bought 4 little packets... :-P

Hahahaha..I don't think it will be a problem -- I would imagine that the site would say that they can't ship certain products to the US if they were illegal here, right?

In any event, I just order 2 packets. Hahaha..and Cadbury's Drinking Chococlate b/c I love the taste of Cadbury's and the hot chocolate must be SO GOOD. Hee.

That's probably true, yeah. It's not as if it's contraband. Just because Splenda can't sell the stuff here doesn't mean you can't buy it elsewhere and bring it back, right?

Mmm, let know how how the hot chocolate is when you get it!

LOL! Tea, Splenda tablets, wine gums, Dime bars... My list is getting longer and longer.

Tell Catherine at the Main House we said hello, and be sure to try the little cafe around the corner. I highy recommend the ham and cheese baguette for breakfast -- it's enough to share between two people. Have fun! :-D

I know what you mean about too many exchanges to write for. It's like from... Sep-Feb there are 983493 of them and that's when all of us are the busiest. We need to even it out a bit.

I know, it's crazy! But like many people, I tend to take on more things to do when I'm busy, which I've never really understood! :-P

First, thanks so much for the Valentine, Emma! Second, my mother happily continues to order Splenda tablets from somewhere, regardless of the line being unavailable in the US. I am going to find out where she gets them from next time I talk to her (I know it's not the UK, as she is not into splurging on shipping).

Oh, how could I not? Just over the last year, you have made me laugh, smile, fall out of my seat, call over my other half and scream "look, look at this" countless times, and that's just wonderful.
Oh, and the fic, of course :)

*LOVESMACK* Thank you so much for my box of tasty chocolatey virtual treats, sweetie! That was incredibly unexpected and so unbelievably kind. I'm all a-thrill.

Also, Splenda! I've been so curious. So it's not evil for you?

I think in the general health kinda way? You know how you hear all sorts of crazy reports about sugar substitute things and it's just always like 'what do I believe?! arrr!'

Plus, those Splenda commercials on TV are really hooking me. *grin*

Ah, right -- but that's for aspartame, I think, Nutrasweet and such. Splenda is something different, IIRC. And it tastes better, anyway!
