I need to start with 39, I believe. I had to put it aside right before Thanksgiving for travel and finishing of Teh Smutmas Fic, and now, wow! Finished!
I think I shall reward myself with it when my grades are all done and turned in...
*covers eyes* I haven't read since Chapter 30. I'm waiting to go back to work so I can get some work done print the whole thing and read from beginning to end! (Same goes for StG.)
I have to agree with you, I absolutely love this story. Sam/Copperbadge is such a prolific author, I don't know how he finds the time to write such wonderful stories. I look forward to when he becomes an original published author. I also love his take on the horcruxes and how to deal with them and his teenage version of Sirius. I'm a committed H/D shipper, but I adore "Cartographer's Craft" anyway.
I also love his "Stealing Harry/Scenes from the River House/Laocoon's Children" series, in which 6yo Harry is "stolen" from the Dursleys by Remus and Sirius and raised by them. So far the series is up to Year 2 at Hogwarts:

And while on the subject of great HP reads, has everybody discovered the brilliant "A Year Like None Other" by Aspeninthesunlight?: http://archive.skyehawke.com/authors.php?no=781
There's no slash (what?!), but it's a great Severus as mentor story to Harry and Draco. The author was kicked of FFnet for some bizarre reason (jealousy by one of those untalented wankers perhaps?), and since moving to Skyehawke has gained more than 200,000 hits and almost 1700 reviews. It's that good.
Yesterday I read the latest chapter - 90 (!) - and was almost hyperventilating at the end.
Happy holiday reading everyone!
Cheers

Don't ask how I managed to miss something this big, but have to send you a thanks for mentioning it, as now I have a BIG way to avoid my marking.... (I've made it to Ch. 7 so far)
