wayfairer has posted a passionate, no-holds-barred rant about slashers who plan to vote for Bush. An excerpt:
"If you vote for Bush then don't ever talk to me of empowering gays and lesbians again, whoever you are, because every vote for Bush is a microcosmic disenfranchisement, as well as a stinging slap in the face--not just for American gays and lesbians, but for all of us who struggle for basic human dignity, everywhere across the world. [...] You joining that community as a slasher is saying to me that you think the little gay boys have their place, and that place is snogging for your entertainment. You joining that community is saying that as a slasher, you're a hypocrite who thinks that gayness is okay as long as it's just about hot sex and well-written fiction, not about social acceptance and long-term commitments in the form of marriage."
Clearly, she feels strongly. Some interesting discussion has already popped up, too, from both sides of the issue.
