Until GOF starts ten minutes of previews start!!!

On my way to lunch today, I saw a building with a movier theater marquee on it (not a theater anymore) that said "Durmstrang stinks!" on one side and "Beauxbatons sucks!" on the other. I love the fact that HP is a cultural phenomenon, you know?

I'm wearing my Ravenclaw t-shirt and a rainbow scarf, but that's the extent of costuming I usually do, heh.

[Poll #614923]

ETA: Because it apparently isn't obvious, that's a Napolean Dynamite reference up there... People who costume aren't idiots. ;-)

Oh, and vote for Pedro.

*grooves* I'm going as Remus, baby! Unfortunately I do not have a Snape or Sirius to go with, but my friend is going as Tonks, and we'll be disgustingly canon. My sister is going as Luna, and will be beautiful and vacant. I can't wait! *jigs*

No costume, but not because people who wear them are idiots. Mostly because I am lazy.

I may wear a kilt Saturday, though, depending again on my laziness and on the weather. Probably not, considering the temperature.

That was a subtle little Napolean Dynamite reference, heh. ;-)

I'm not wearing anything interesting. I don't think folks that do are idiots, but I don't really dress up much and I don't have any costume things. Besides, going in costume might make people look at me, and then I might have to talk to them. Seeing as I have crappy social skills and nothing interesting to talk about, we're all better off if I don't dress up and remain inconspicuous as possible.

I want to make a scarf, but my knitting skills aren't up to snuff yet. I don't even know what House colors to do, because I get a different result on each quiz.

I'm wearing the white button up shirt with my Slytherin tie. My sister is wearing my slasher t-shirt a friend made for me. One the front it says "Harry Potter Sucks" on the back "Just as Draco." My friend got the idea when I was showing her all of the cool animated user pics that people use.

If I were going to a fannish screening, I'd be all out in costume!

As it is, I'm going to see it as a school-sponsored charity event and would probably scare people I don't really want to be scaring...

I'm going to wear a t-shirt with an obscure H/D reference on it, just to see if there's any fandomers at the theatre. Once the shippers get together, you might as well be watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show, for all the antics.

I plan as going as a Muggle.

I'm going to stand in line at the midnight showing tonight, and say loudly, "What's all this Potter nonsense! Magic isn't real, except for the magic Dreamer. The things Dakota Fanning can do with that horse!"

...Maybe I shouldn't yell that. It might be taken out of context o_O

From: [identity profile] mizbean.livejournal.com
It's like 20 degrees here so I'm really wearing winter coat, hats and gloves, (and, alas, no Gryffindor scarf) but underneath it all I'm wearing a t-shirt that a friend made me using the H/D [livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs art similar to what's in my icon.

I have this lovely t-shirt that one of my friends made me that has a pic of Harry and Draco kissing on it. Unfortunately my dorm room closet is tiny, so half of my clothes are in my over-flow closet at my parents house, including that shirt. I really wish I could wear it tonight, but I'm way to busy to spend over an hour in traffic just for a t-shirt.

An hp related shirt or maybe a scarf is about as far as I would go with the dress up thing though. No offense to everyone who does it, but I've always felt dressing up in robes and putting a lightning bolt sticker on your head was a little dorky. Its hard to look hot in robes, you know? I don't think I would ever do the whole costume thing, but those people seem to have a lot of fun even if they're not at their most attractive.

From: [identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com
I haven't been a costumer since my Rocky Horror days, but I see the appeal. I think it's more fun if you're doing it in a group!

I plan on wearing my "Bryn Mawr Quidditch" t-shirt. Not legitimately HP-related perhaps, but many people do consider Bryn Mawr to be an all-female, muggle version of Hogwarts. Also, on the back of the shirt is written "120 years of chicks riding sticks" and I just don't think you can argue with that.

But, I'm biased.

Enjoy the movie!!!
