The Human Rights Campaign is a great organization that promotes GLBT equal rights. If you aren't on their mailing list or a member, you should consider it, because it's a great way to get involved in these important human rights issues.

They have an interesting new interactive resource for talking about GLBT issues with family, friends, and co-workers. There are some good ideas there for responding to comments people might make. They make it sound a lot easier than it is, of course, but it's still an interesting read.

They are promoting it with an ad campaign called Tom, the Token Gay Friend, and they have a selection of the ads on the website. They're pretty funny and feature a guy trying to engage his straight friends in conversations about GLBT equality issues -- and failing miserably. They're kind of fun to watch. :-)

Thanks for the link. The adds are pretty funny in an odd "gee that happens when I bring things like this up with my mother" kind of way.

On a different note, I remember you posting about doing p0rn research. I ran across a site that has some of the most amazing stuff on it. You have to pay for the movies but you can still see pictures and man... @.@ (and I mean that in a good way.) Let's just say I paid.

If you want to know about it I can post you a link here or email it to you. I'm not one to pimp this kind of thing usually.

Hope things are going ok for you sweetie.

W00t! Porn is good. Feel free to send that URL my way! ;-)

Yes, things are good right now. I've let go of some stuff that was causing me a lot of pain (let go for a few months, at least -- I should post an update elsewhere on that) and I'm SO much happier for it. :-)

Thanks for asking!

HRC had a fundraising dinner in San Antonio last weekend, and I went with some friends (free gala tickets!). We dressed up, the boys wore tuxedos, and it was cool!

The keynote speaker was Chad Allen from 'Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman' fame. I got a pic with him and everything!

Nope - should I be? Is that where the cool kids are hanging out these days?

You're in San Antonio? You should come to my church's special prayer service Sunday night in support of equal marriage rights.

Maybe I should have Emma announce it, since there seem to be San Antonio folk on her list. Emma, you want to announce it?

Yeah, I'll post that. Do you want your name associated with it? I'm not sure how "out" you are at this point.

Well, if people come, they'll know it's me, right?

Sounds great! Would love to attend (though shudders at the thought of braving the I10-Crossroads construction congestion).

Yes, that *can* be a real challenge. But I do hope you come. Be sure to introduce yourself! I'll be the one preaching. :P

Invite your friends, too!
