Oh, this really gives me confidence in my the President. I mean, dude. 0_o

ETA: Hi, people. Just so you know, I am MOCKING the man here. I'm enjoying an opportunity to make fun of him. I'm not making any deep political statements. It's simply funny -- and if you can't see that, maybe you should take a step back for a moment.

I can't even remember who I snagged that icon from now. :-P

And the next elections are much too far away.

*sigh* I really, really hope the next person in charge of the US will be about 2 million times more competent & intelligent as well as likeable.

I saw a close-up shot on the evening news, and it was on all the late night shows as well. And Reuters swears it's real!

Considering that any move by him to absent himself during UN proceedings might be construed as a meaningful diplomatic slight, what else did you expect him to do? Sheesh. The guy can't get a break from the press, it seems, bathroom or otherwise.

It's just bizarre and silly that he had to write a note about it to his National Security Advisor. Surely they could work out a better system than that? Would it kill him to seem a little tiny bit dignified and presidential? Besides, the sessions do have breaks. He could have done what anyone in a long meeting has to do every day and plan accordingly.

He's not getting a break from me -- not after everything he's done to drag my my country down in the last few years.

Hahaha! True...

Who would you put into Bushs place had you the total power to decide?

Kind of makes you wonder why we put a man in charge of the nuclear weapons button who has to ask permission to go to the bathroom, doesn't it?

Don't look at me, I didn't vote for him.

Exactly! Well said. Dignity & better planning. He's a grown up after all and the most powerful person on this planet. Writing such a note...ummm...seems a thing an 8 year old pupil would do. *snigger*

Well, curiously, when you write a small note during a conference, you don't expect people with a telephoto lense to go and read it over your shoulder. I suppose considering the habits of the press towards him (did people ever do this to Clinton?) he should, but I rather like that he's still not become the paranoid freak others *coughcoughNixoncoughcough* in his job were.

Anyway. Bush gets judged by his bladder, Clinton was by his prostate (and assorted glands.) All hail responsible political coverage!

I'm not a Bush-supporter by any means, but I have to agree. Any US president would have to do things like that at a summit -- it's not like he can just get up and walk out at any time. He has to take his Secret Service detail with him.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize the man. This isn't one.

When he was about to start talking on my local news broadcast (just a snippet), the station just "happened" to have technical difficulties.

Coincidence? Hm. Frankly, I don't care. I'm just happy it happened. ;)
