Quick update

Believe it or not, I have yet to start reading HBP! So those of you who've left me LJ comments with spoilers in them: PLEASE DON'T.

The con was fabulous! As I write this, I'm in the airport in Las Vegas at 5:30 am, and I haven't slept -- I stayed up all night! My plan was to read on the plane home, but I'm starting to wonder if that will really happen. :-P I had so much fun hanging out with other fans, and I hope everyone who went had a safe trip home!

On an unrelated note, MDH sent me this:

Ewan McGregor in autograph ban

POLICE have banned Ewan McGregor from signing autographs for fans outside a London theatre. McGregor, 34, is currently performing to crowds in the musical Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End, but police, fearful of a further terrorists attacks, have told bosses at the theatre that they should act to stop large crowds gathering outside the auditorium.

Now a ban has been imposed on McGregor and the rest of the cast signing autographs after the show. The move has left fans of the Creiff-born star, keen to meet their idol, disappointed. A spokesman for the Piccadilly confirmed that McGregor and other stars have been warned not to stop and talk to fans.

Whoa. So I guess I should count myself extra lucky then.

Phew! We got in there in time. I would have been very sorry not to have at least taken pictures after the show.

That goodness for small favors that we made it and got our autographs. If we had plans later this year and were twarted, I don't know how I would feel about it.

It makes me sad for his other fans.

And thanks for the book! I just realized I forgot to tell you I got it and read it. It was a great read! Though I have my doubts as to how much of that was actually written by Ewan...

The tone of what was written sounds what I would imagine he would speak like, but the actual writing was probably done by a ghostwriter. I am glad that you got the book. My Dad gave me copy for Christmas to encourage my adventurous spirit...but I am glad to have the program signed instead of the paperback.
