STG location pics!!!

luciology took photos of some of the locations Harry and Draco visit in STG and she's posted them here So cool! :-D

I'll be in London next week and I'm hoping to drop by Harry's flat and Draco & Manny's flat to take a look at the outside, maybe snap a photo.

Yes, they're real places. I went apartment hunting for both of them before I started writing... Know how hard it is to find two-bedroom flats in the area you want, with fireplaces???

Very, very cool. You realize this just reeks more havok on my already fragile resolve -- any more and I swear I'm going to actually start seeing H & D in the photos ... Harry eating aloo gobi while Draco sneaks a smoke outisde Mela's ... Oy.

It was weird being in San Francisco last year and sitting in the coffee shop where Draco worked, sipping a latte. Inside, I was freaking out! :-P

If you spot the guys while you're there (and remember to look for a glamour) - can you slip them my phone number or email address?

The photos were wonderful - really add to the feel of the story, just being able to picture where they are, and the whole tone of the environment.

And on another, related topic, I react more to that icon every time I see it. It's like it's etching away at something inside me, and soon it will own me completely. Lust is not a pleasant experience over a long time... *sighs*

Thank you! On eof my betas tells me I'm crazy, but I really want the fic to be in a real place and time. Remember when Harry and Draco went to a play in San Francisco back in LMH? I went back through online newspapers and figured out what was actually playing on that date and sent them to that theater. *is a geek*

that inspires me GREATLY ... i live in san fran, and ill take pics of the places i know from LMH ... i do have my suspicions of his appartment, b & b and the cafe, but im not sure

so soon ill take pics, and if you want you can tell me where certain things are that i dont know/ guessed wrong.. ill email you the pics i do take

ya when my friend came here, we went on a LMH scavenger hunt, it was harder than i thought cuz some of it is really vague, and the hills

I have the address of Draco's apartment somewhere. I should dig it up. The other places are in the general locations I describe in the story. You could probably even find them by googling the names. :-)

I've been meaning to go to London for MONTHS for exactly the same reason, but there was always something else going on *sighs*

Or you might call that a little insane? I went on a research trip to San Francisco for LMH, and I scouted spots in London for STG last fall when I was there. I just like the idea that they would be in these places that are special for me, you know? So they eat in my favorite restaurants, stuff like that. It's really quite selfish... ;-)

I just checked out the pictures. I had absolutely no idea that these were real places. I imagine that it must have been really hard for you to find the right flats, & routes & whatnots. Hey, if you're going to check out their flats, will you be taking pictures of the buildings? If you do, I'd love to see them too. The geek in me is very happy right now. :D

Oh, yes -- real places! Actually, it was kind of fun to search for flats on real estate web sites. It would have been better to do it in person, of course... ;-)

I'm going to try to find the buildings and take a picture of the outside. I can't actually go in, but at least I can match up the visuals for myself. And make note of what shops are nearby, that sort of thing.

One of the captions reminded me of someting I meant to mention, but the twists and turns of the story made me forget. In England, you almost never, save in very specific cases (Piccadilly comes to mnd, but I can't think of another offhand), call a street/avenue by its name, without mentioning street/avenue/place/whatever. It's not "Shaftesbury", it's always "Shaftesbury Avenue." (Chances are there are, possibly several miles away, several Shaftesbury streets, lanes, crescents, etc.) The semi-circle way around Bush House (the BBC world service) is known as "The Aldwych", no other name, but the definite article is required. Same with "The King's Road". Chalk all this up with the rest of the million rules to British life.

Ohmygod...I can't believe they actually have real flats! I am in awe at how much work you put into the research for this universe. You are amazing. I really hope you can get pics. I would love to see them. If I ever go to London and San Fransisco I will definately stop by ALL of the places...well...I'll have to get the addresses from you first :) I will be squeeing like the fangirl I am...the people around me will be like "wtf? what's so special about a building" haha. Wow...Okay...I'm going to stop babbling now. Hope you get the pics :D
