More on the birth control issue

I just love reading ginmar's posts. She's just posted an interesting update/rant about the issue of pharmacists refusing to fill birth control prescriptions. Funny, enlightening, frustrating, and so, so true.

...Is this just a US thing? As in the whole pharmicists not giving out birth control. And is it wide spread? I haven't heard of it being a problem here - I mean, if you go to the health centre and get a check up they'll prescribe you the pill for 3 months afterwards you can get a PAP smear, they'll prescribe you the pill for $5/month for a year (after which you get to go back and do it all over again), so long as you don't have any problems with it. And you can get it filled there. Which is great if you're a) a poor student, and b) don't want to go to your family physician for whatever reason.
