Back before Christmas, [livejournal.com profile] ixchelmala (of Knight2King fame - very intriguing, check it out) took a trip to San Francisco.  She was in the area of the Castro and took lots of pictures of places that are described in LMH!

You can check out her pictures here.  She even talked the manager of the Inn on Castro into giving her a TOUR, so she got photos of rooms and everything!  And there's even a table there with a bunch of "hearts" on it -- all left in SF...

My apologies to [livejournal.com profile] ixchelmala for not posting this sooner!

*Squee*

Wow... I keep forgetting that San Francisco isn't flat... I should know better after watching so much Starsky and Hutch as a kid, and every episode of Charmed... It's so beautiful... I really need to have them open in a window next to the reading pane the next time I read LMH...

Curse the fact that all flights from Oz land in that dive of a place Los Angeles! I want to go to San Francisco!!!!!

thanks for sharing!!!!

Castro looks cool, although I would never have pictured the Inn on Castro to look like that. It just doesn't go with my mental images of LMH. :)

(*Squee! First comment bliss!*)

Very much the SF I remember, having grown up in Northern California. Ix has a talent with cameras. Hope LMH II is going well...?

Well it was exactly as I'd pictured it from your story. Then again, having been there several times (SF, not to the inn itself) maybe I had an advantage? Of course, your story made me want to go back ;)

Yes, the famous hills of San Francisco... It's such a great city! I hope you get a chance to visit it sometime.

You know, I'd seen pictures of it on the internet, but I don't remember it being blue, for some reason! I don't know if they painted it, or if the picture I saw was really old, or what.

And so many pictures! Ix rocks!

Sequel is going. I'm writing... ;-) I've started sending chunks off to the betas, so I feel like I'm making good progress!

I really love that city. The fic was set there for several reasons, but my love of SF was definitely one of them!

The outside wasn't what I was expecting, but it works with my mental image more or less. The room pics were what really surprised me. Anyways...

Good luck writing the sequel. I (all of us?) can't wait! :)

That is the house at the end of the block. The Inn is totally obscured by trees when I was there visiting.

I just thought that was a cool house and included it... actually, it's quite like what I thought Draco's flat was like save in white.
