Yay!

And on another topic altogether, MDH and I purchased the first season of original Star Trek on DVD and have been watching the old episodes. Now, I've known for a long time that Trek was the original slash fandom, but I'd never actually watched it through slash-colored glasses before.

Holeeee shit, but that show was SLASHY! OMG Kirk/Spock!!!!! Their lurve is soooo canon!!!

Example: The Enemy Within (This is paraphrased, of course, from memory...)

Spock: [enters Kirk's quarters, pauses when he sees Kirk is shirtless] Jim, can I... do anything for you?
Kirk: [raises eyebrow, smirks] What did you have in mind?
Spock: [still staring] The doctor said I should come check on you.
Kirk: [still smirking] Did he?
Spock: He said you were acting like a wild man.
Kirk: [grins]
Emma: OMG!!! Squee!!!
Emma's husband: [rolls eyes] Not again...

*giggle* OMG, next time it's on Sci Fi maybe I will have to watch it. I was brought up on TNG, which will always be MY Star Trek, so I am innocent of the slashiness of the original. I'm still amazed that Riker didn't catch some unknown STD with all the women he was shagging.

*hehe* There is a reason the series is called the mother of slash ^_~

But I'm still more into Voyager slash, myself. (Gods! Chakotay/Paris *_*)

Many, many years ago when I was but a sprog, I was a devout Trekkie. *grins* I had had begun my own collection of the books before I was in fifth grade, and could draw the ships and shuttlecraft accurately, name the characters and where they were from upon request, and even explain much of the canon science, including warp and trans-warp drive. lol

Kirk/Spock is and always shall remain my Trekkie OTP. They were so obvious it's a wonder anyone misses it. *giggles*

*squees with you*

It would be so cool if you started writing fic for that genre, too. But, it's not as popular anymore...

Heeeee! We're going to get ST on DVD as soon as I'm done squeeing over Highlander mrph. I'm sure K/S is slashy as all-get-out, although I'm kinda hoping there's some Sulu/Scotty/Chekhov to be found as well. ;)

Emma's husband: [rolls eyes] Not again...

HAHAHAHHAHAHA! (I usually get poked in the arm, and I don't even have to say anything.)

They're amazing, actually! They seem to be so full of sci fi cliches -- and then you realize no, that show was the first to do it. They're cliches now because Trek did it first!

And I can't believe I didn't see the slashiness until now!

I was a TNG fan too, and haven't even watched all of the old Treks. Read a little Picard/Q, but otherwise I haven't been in a Trek slash fandom much.

Oh, I do not need another fandom! HP is so big that even writing more than one pairing is like taking on a new fandom...

But it's certainly fun to contemplate, and I must admit I'm tempted to do a search for Kirk/Spock! ;-)

I couldn't believe how slashy it was! And I'm sure there's many interesting things to be found.

Yes, poor MDH. He says I've ruined his favorite shows for him, by making him think about the possibility! :-P

Grant generally tells me I'm on crack. Every so often he agrees that it's canon, though. When we saw King Arthur, there was a scene where Lancelot walks in and tells Arthur "You'll talk to your God, but you never talk to me!" Grant agreed that this made Arthur/Lancelot canon, as that is not something nonslashy guys would say to each other, ever.

I can't wait to see what he says when I'm watching all the HL episodes with Methos in them. ...actually, he'll probably just make fun of me a LOT...

I did think about Kim/Paris once... But after I read one Chakotay/Paris that was over ^_~

There's this one story, and I absolutely adore it. Maybe you want to give it a try?

It's a finished multipart and simply brilliant.

Seven/Janeway? Hm. Never really thought about that. (Haven't thought about femslash at all in a while...)
My first Voyager pairing was Paris/Janeway *ggg* Ah, yes, the good old days when I was still innocent and slash-untouched ^_~

Yes, the HP fandom is very large...*sigh* So just stick to the Draco/Harry. ;)

I must admit I'm tempted to do a search for Kirk/Spock! ;-)

Hehe! Show me if you find one.
