Okay, this is the last time I'm spamming today, I swear. This was just too funny , though.

I occasionally google my pen name, just to see what I get. Today I stumbled across this page. Here's a direct quote:

The three lead children fill their roles with ease, a bewildered Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), a 'wicked' Ron Weasley (Rupert Grant) and a proper Hermione Granger (Emma Grant) but it is the elders who steal the spotlight.

Ummmm... Heh. That's an interesting mistake to make, considering that there are two Emma Grants you typically get when you google the name on the web. One is me, and the other is a porn star. *smirk*

Hehe... I confess that I've done that before, though hopefully never in so public an arena.

I do it every now and then with the filter on to see if my web page comes up. It frequently does, though. I'm never sure if I should report my page or not. Since I started writing in the HP fandom, I've started to worry about kids stumbling across my website...

Really? Wow. So I'm the link between you and the larger world of the internet? *grins*

That's allright, I don't want the whole internet knowing about me, could be bad... yep, especially when I'm staring at icons like yours...

Like I mentioned in an above comment, part of the reason that I do this googling is to see how easily accessible my stuff might be to kids. I didn't worry about it when I was just writing in the Star Wars fandom. That seems to be a Gen X and above fandom, for the most part.

I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't figure out how to list my site with net nanny type organizations now, though... I mean, it's not my problem if parents don;t watch their kids, but I'd hate to get a C&D.

*snickers* Imagine the poor kids who'd google it up.

On one hand they'll get graphical pictures of a pornstar and on the other hand they'll get stories from a smutty fandom writer.

They'll be scarred for life xD

Ok, I might start veering off topic here, but:

MOTHER MODE ON!

It is up to parents to watch what their kids do. I pay attentions to what my son watches on tv and we watch him when he is on the computer. (Yeah, a 4 year old with a PC!)
I even watch my nieces when they are here, though they know better, I still keep an eye on them.

I think that because of my own perviness I am more aware of what is out there than most so I know what to look for.

Still that doesn't escuse the fact that most parents want someone else to do the parenting.

As I walk around the malls and such I see kids that are too young to be smoking and being rude and such, and yet parents don't seem to instill any sense of discipline. But then again, the kids learn first from their parents, so that should tell you something...

Ok, I'm done know

MOTHER MODE OFF; PERVINESS ON!

I don't have kids (yet), but I agree with this completely! I put warnings and ratings on everything. If parents don't want their kids to see that sort of thing, they should keep their eyes on them when they're on the internet.

Hey 1st I don't usually do comments unless I know the person. But, I just wanted to say that I agree with Astentatioux, I have a 5 year old daughter, but I also have barley teenage brothers and a gazillion cusins. It is the parents responsibility to watch what there kids are doing. (and on the discipline thing.) And, I like the fact that you even think about the accessibility of your stuff to kids, that's cool.
