Oh, I forgot! I read Left My Heart when we went to Savannah--luckily I finished it before leaving my Jornada on the plane--and I owe you feedback, but mostly, it was terrific. I have trouble seeing H/D, but I thought you handled it really well, and the plot was terrific.
Oh, yay! Thanks for reading it, even though it's not your pairing. If you have any constructive criticism, taht'd be great. I'm going to start re-writing it as soon as I get this Q/O fic done... :-P
Maybe the people who can draw wish they could write??? Lol!!
And you said in a comment further down exactly what Els and I feel - how wonderful it is that someone would take the time to turn something you've written into a picture.
The art is great. Oh, and I never gave you the feedback you deserved for Left My Heart, of with I am massively ashamed. I am braindead at the moment so I can't be articulate (I'll see what I can do when I have gotten some sleep) but thank you for writing such a fun, fast-paced, spiffy piece. I loved Harry, I seriously did. I want to shag him so badly. *cough* What do you mean he's fictional?
And the... "Please, call me Harry." Priceless. What a twat. *loves*
That artwork is positively delicious! I love all the details ... like the fact that their cheeks and noses are a little red from the chill in the February air. I've been to SFO twice to visit my younger brother who lives in Martinez and who incidently has worked in the San Francisco office of the FBI for the last fourteen years.
I remember driving through the Castro and walking along all the shops at Pier 39 when I was there on my last trip so your story really brought back a lot of happy memories for me. It was so much fun to read about places I've actually been to while there.
Keep us updated on when to start looking for the sequel. I will try to be patient and wait without too much whining.
See, this is why I'm not an artist. I don't even notice those little details until someone points them out!
I'm actually going to be in SF soon, and I'm hoping I get a chance to got to the Castro and check out all of the locations in the fic!
As for the sequel, I'm going to be rewriting LMH first, and I have no idea how long that will take! Any constructive criticism for me? I'm thinking you were one of the folks who found the ending a little unstaisfying.
I'm thinking you were one of the folks who found the ending a little unstaisfying.
Oh no...don't think that just because I wished there was more hot, steamy H/D action before the story ended. That's just the smutaholic in me talking. You were 100 percent correct to end the story that way and it sets the sequel up perfectly for the two of them to start building a relationship together. They do need to learn how to trust each other and get to know the person if they want to make things last. However, that doesn't mean I didn't hope for more of your sex scenes. If you didn't write them so deliciously erotic, I wouldn't whine so much for more.
I've read and reread LMH about four times and love it more with each reading. My brother in the SFO FBI office if a big HP fan and I would love to get him to read the story, but I'm afraid the slash would freak him out.
Ohhh...a research field trip to San Francisco sounds like a lot of fun. I thought the Castro was VERY interesting...especially being from the sheltered midwest. I was totally and utterly enthralled with the sights. I would love to go back there again soon.
*giggles* I love it! And Draco licking the ice cream off his fingers is just so... so... *drool*
It is a pic worthy of your wonderful story!
And I have a present for you too! It's nowhere near as good as Sherant's beautiful drawing, partly because Sherant is simply incredible and I am unworthy to compare myself to her, and partly because this is a rough concept sketch and not a properly finished product because of time contraints. I've been insanely busy getting ready to go off to my Army training, but I had promised you some artwork, and I don't know if I'll get another chance to do anything before I leave. I didn't have time to get to a scanner, so I uploaded it by taking a picture with my digital camera.

Of course, I don't think I could ever do anything as good as this one, anyway!
