This clip has been floating around for a while, but it cracks me up every time I see it. This is Larry Craig (the anti-gay Idaho Republican Senator who recently plead guilty to soliciting sex from another man in an airport bathroom) talking about Bill Clinton in a really interesting way.

Being an Idahoan, it's been really interesting to see how this has played out. I haven't paid all that much attention to it, because I rather disagree with the conservative majority in this state (it sucks being a liberal in a red state, doesn't it?), and there is only so much public sympathizing with Craig that I can handle (I've never liked him). But the hypocrisy of Craig and the Republican party in general is simultaneously hilarious and nauseating. He wouldn't have been crucified by his party if he'd been soliciting straight sex, no. But he was caught soliciting gay sex. And he's been so staunchly anti-gay for years. Some people think that he (and people like him) are anti-gay because they hate themselves, and that's possible, but I also think that part of it is largely a front--to get the conservative religious votes. They'll pretend to go along with the religious right while privately believing that they can do whatever the hell they want so long as they don't get caught. Whatever is the case with Craig, he really is a rather pitiful character. I had such a strong moment of vicious pleasure when I first saw the news. After voting against him for years, it is satisfying to see him go down in *flames*. ;D

That video is hilarious, btw. I love the look on Matthews' face after the clip. *laughs*
