• FWIW, I'm probably not going to be crossposting to GJ anymore. LJ is still my main journal and the main place I'll watch my flist, and I'm cross-posting some (public only) content to IJ at ths point. I'm going to wait and see what the fandom does over the next couple of months before I make a shift. You can find me at IJ under this same user name. I'm not thrilled with the idea of fandom relocating, and despite the asshattery of LJ, I can't help but hope it won't happen. But if the fandom goes, I will too. *sigh*

• I just spent about an hour friending as many people as I could on IJ. I'm sure there are still a lot of people I have friended on LJ that I haven't found on IJ yet, but I'm slowly catching up. It was hard not not notice that many people I've had mutually friended for years haven't friended me there. I'm usually not that concerned about such things, but still. Meep.

• I think some of you have done this already, but you know those new Pepsi-sponsored free v-gifts LJ is making available? Lots of folks have been sending them to news with a message letting them know exactly what they think. You can see all the v-gifts news has gotten here. If you want to send your own message, go here and scroll all the way down to the bottom. Again, it's free (advertising). Gee, I guess now we know why LJ went on an anti-porn spree -- they had to "clean up" the place for their new big corporate sponsor. God, I miss the old days.

By spamming news, lj biz, and lj workers with the sponsored v-gifts, all people are doing is putting money in Pepsi's pockets, sending the message that we ARE self-absorbed, stupid asshats, and slowing down the servers (no, really, that's why some email notifs are delayed, as per an LJ worker who directly told me so). I really think this is not conducive to presenting fandom as intelligent and mature, personally. There are much more eloquent and respectable means of getting one's disapproval across than resorting to behaving like stompy children. :/ Just MO, of course, but...I think they've been spammed enough.

I just created an IJ and friended you there, although you don't know me lol. But the idea that fandom could move and I'd miss all the fic nearly gave me a panic attack, so now I have IJ and GJ.

We'll agree to disagree on that one. I actually felt better after reading through a lot of the messages there from people all over LJ.

And I don't have an issue with Pepsi. It's not their fault LJ has been treating its customers this way. They probably don't have a clue.

IJ doesn't have notifications when someone friends you, so that might be the thing. People don't check their Userinfo (which is the only place to see who friended you) so often as mail...

And, oh, well, maybe some people changed preferences in fanfiction and are not interested in your fics anymore. Shouldn't be worried about that. :)

I think the friend thing on other journals will sort itself out eventually. When I created my account, I tried to friend all the names from LJ, and of course many did not exist. Now I check every few days and friend anybody who's friended me in the interim.

I made backups too, since it seems to be the trendy thing to do, I'll friend you as soon as I'm not travelling. so um when i get around to friending you, friend me lol. I can guarantee I won't log into my IJ/GJ except to friend people until i know where fandom goes. I still love my lj, and I hope it all blows over so I don't have to leave

As a writer, you need not to take hasty leave for the moment, but me? Am terrified. I have never really been under the spotlight like the PP artists but seriously, my style is as close as what LJ deem as chan even though I never meant to draw it (unless requested). And since I was getting spammed by flamers lately, I don't think it wise for me to stay here any longer (I mean, my adult arts). So am packing up my things.

My main stuff (fandom ramblings & adult arts) will be on IJ. I feel betrayed and LJ has turned untrustworthy for me. I hate the idea of leaving here, but I hate even more that I can't draw what made me stay here in the first place. My society is petty and judgemental as it is. I need a place where I can spread my wings and LJ isn't it any more :(

I don't get friending notifications here on LJ either, so I guess I wouldn't miss that. But I've been checking my UI page once a day to see who has friended me, and occasionally scan comments in other folks' posts to see if I recognize anyone.

Well, if the people I'm talking about have suddenly decided they aren't interested in me, I'd be pretty shocked. :-P
