emmagrant01: (Obi chained)

Yay! The web site is back up, after a day or so of panic. Big smooches to [livejournal.com profile] helens78 for fixing the problem!

And I've finally put together my own list of Star Wars recs. Not complete, but it's a start. Check it out: http://www.queerasjedi.com/emma/recs/tpmrecs.html

I'm continually humbled by those who even remember my name after I abandonned ship for over a year. I see some fics that make me all teary with nostalgia... want to go poking through my SW files... must resist... have short-notice fic due ASAP... *whimpers*

You are the sole reason I've read any Snape/Harry, I must say. And the only Snarry I read is yours.

*smooch*

I'm still hopeful about JE, though I'm not holding my breath...

Oh, and you appear on my HP recs page as well!

Yay, another recs page! I'd totally forgotten about "Glory, Glory Hole-lelujah"--what a great story.

Don't listen to her! She's the one who lured me away from SW in the first place! Her recs list will suck you in and you'll never escape....

Hee! I love hearing 'I don't normally read ____, but...'. It just seems like the biggest compliment ever.

And please don't hold your breath over JE. I've the whole bloody story in my head but the episode after the one I'm currently working on has some important stuff that I think I'm subconsciously avoiding. Plus the last time I worked on it the computer hiccuped and I lost a few paragraphs. *weeps*

And as much as I like JE, I can't say I regret it. How's Chrysalis coming, anyway? *innocent whistling*

You introduced me to bestiality as well, you know. That was also on my "I'll NEVER read" list until... Well.

You're very brave.

[livejournal.com profile] miraminx and I have a recs page, although someone said we should call it "Recommendations. And Not." I have my own recs page here, but I'm sure it's dreadfully out of date. One story I know doesn't show up in either of those places is a WIP called "Shattered," by Nym, that's at hp.pfen.net. It's the only WIP I'm following right now.

I'm really glad the problem was so easily solved! And I have a recs page, too, albeit terribly out of date... since I essentially left the fandom except for QAJ

There's a little overlap, but not much!

Oooh, and you rec'd Epicenter! I do love that story so much, but a lot of people didn't like Obi cheating on Bail. I'm glad you liked it too!

I adored it, and I'm terribly curious about the original version, since you mention in your notes that the original version seemed out of character for Obi. :) Also, this was totally my inspiration for the one-off Jango scene in my RL AU thing. I didn't see the appeal until reading Epicenter :D

Hmm. The original version wasn't substantially differnt -- it's just that I expanded on Obi's feelings of horror and alienation at seeing all the clones. I played up his need to have some human contact in the midst of all this artificially created life. That worked better for my test audience (mom and sisters) who needed to have some context for why Obi would suddenly jump Jango's bones. (What -- other than Temeura Morrison is so hot?)

The original version was more about Obi shows up; sees the clones, goes ick; sees Jango, goes YUM; then goes home and confesses to Bail. The revised version just went into his feelings a bit more. I probably have the handwritten original somewhere in one of my books. Might be interesting to look it up again, maybe put it on the LJ for comparison....

*I* miss you.

I know you're happy writing in the Est., and that you feel like it's a great place for you to be creatively. I'm happy for you, of course! But I do miss all those hot little TPM PWPs you used to write. Actually, I mostly feel your absence on the Siri Tachi list. You were doing some amazing work there! I keep my fingers crossed that you'll get bitten some some Obi/Siri bunny some day and post something new there.

Say, you never posted that fic I beta'd for you last summer, did you?

Aww! (Again with the aww...)

In all honesty, it's not so much the Est as the style of writing that I picked up on over there, the dual-person switching-perspective writing. There's something astonishingly addictive about it. And after almost a year of writing with some of these people, it's a very comfortable way to write.

I think the problem is that it's almost *too* comfortable. It can be very difficult looking at writing on one's own again.

...but then that's not quite it either, because I've been doing solofic in other areas all along... hm. *sigh*

My Siri bunnies are all Xan/Siri bunnies these days :D

and no, I never did; with the idea of it needing a fourth piece, and how much more experienced I've gotten in writing BDSM since then, I've always thought that if I came back to it, I ought to start from the ground up... which puts it rather lower on the priority list...
