Is it ... typical for US guys to be cut? *considers it seriously for the first time* The part of Europe that I am from, circumcision is common practice only among certain religious groups. Honestly? I have no idea where you can get your kid cut if you wanted to.
I stand firmly behind no-unnecessary mutilation principle. STDs have to do with the way you are responsible for yourself while having fun, not with whether you are as nature made you or have had a piece of skin removed. I only want to add that in some tribes long time ago they cut off the whole nerve-rich tissue where the clit is on all the infant girls because it was thought that would make them better wives later on. *point made*
