I wouldn't feel too bad about supposedly not getting the significance of various eps, and I hope it doesn't stop you from posting your thoughts as you watch them. A lot of the 'aha' moments came from the various boards and email lists - there would be at least a week or even more during summer holidays where the only thing fans could do was analyze the show. You don't have the benefit of hearing about all the theories and coming up with your own in the same way - it was a group experience watching the show. To me, it's basically the same as someone who reads all the HP books, but didn't squee over the revalation of e.g. Blaise in the last book.
Also, I'm glad you enjoyed the Faith/Buffy ep - yes, the premise was cheesy, but then so much of BTVS could be called that. It's the way it's handled that makes it a great show.
