That Spike/Xander version of Something Blue was definitely cracked. :)
As I recall from the time, Doyle was written out because (a) his purpose as Captain Backstory was complete and (b) audiences HATED him.
Hush is generally considered one of the best BtVS eps in the whole series. It was nominated for an Emmy (I don't remember if it won or not). Vamps CAN eat, though they don't have to, and they don't often bother, because their sense of taste is pretty dull (there's an episode I thought you'd already seen where Angel becomes human again, and comments on how GOOD everything tastes).
Quinn could not be removed from the main credits for contractual reasons until after Parting Gifts.
I have had a crush on Marc Blucas (who plays Riley) ever since the first time we saw him on BtVS. He's GORGEOUS.
